Focus Areas

5th grade The Play's the Thing! 

​

 The course will begin with team building and ensemble work.  We will work on theatre games and monologues.  We will use the monologues to cast small scenes from different plays.  I will introduce students to THE BARD Shakespeare and my love of all things England. We will assess our work and if time permits conquer an entire show.  We will then perform for younger classes and for parents the work we have accomplished during our quarter together.  

4th grade   Whose  Line Is It Anyways?

​

This course will be full of fun improvistional games and competition.  We will learn the basic rules to improvisation and learn several of my favorite games.  We will form teams and practice friendly competitions in the style of Comedy Sportz.  Your student will learn problem solving, thinking quickly and communication skills all while haaving fun!  We will invite audiences in to our class to enjo the show at the end of the quarter.

3rd grade  ACTING 

In this course we will explore the world of the actor.  We will look at the job of the actor from auditions to being in a show.  We will prepare and complete an audition.  Students will work as individuals and with groups to  perperform for other classes and parents at the end of the quarter.

2nd grade   Introduction to the Stage

In this course we will go from the selection of a play, to the set design,costumes, makeup,  auditions and opening night.  We will learn the many jobs that go into the production of a play.  We will focus on the job of the Actor and Director and by the end of the quarter will will producea small show for paretns to come and watch.
